Bowbeat Wind Farm was built in 2003 and consists of 24 turbines with a total capacity of 30MW, located northeast of Peebles in the Scottish Borders.

Repowering upgrades the existing project with new, state-of-the-art turbines. This ensures existing wind farms continue to decarbonise our electricity system and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions into the future. With the latest turbine technology, this will mean replacing the existing 24 turbines with fewer, larger turbines. We will share more details of the repowered scheme when available.
The detailed design process is currently underway. Belltown Power’s Project Team is working closely with specialists to carry out extensive site surveys and assessments to inform the new design. When this is ready, Belltown will undertake formal public consultation, to present draft proposals for public feedback and develop further drafts before submitting a full planning application.
